This site is designed for the movie buff who enjoys the story behind the movies. My specific interest is in exploring those areas where movies (and television episodes) were filmed.
We often select our travel destinations so that we may stand in the footprints where history was made. At Monticello, we see the lanky figure of Thomas Jefferson entering the foyer where we stand; the Sistine Chapel evokes the image of Michaelangelo lying just beneath the ceiling as he creates a miracle.
For me, there is a similar sensation standing in front of the main cave at Bronson Canyon. At the entrance I see the cinema ghosts of John Wayne rescuing Natalie Wood in The Searchers (1956); or I peer into the mists of the cave at the lost civilization of Murania where Gene Autry battled in The Phantom Empire (1935). Who would have imagined this all occurred just minutes from Hollywood and Vine.
This web site offers a look at selected movie locations I've had the pleasure to visit. You'll find a history of each location, photographs from my visit, and a filmography including many movie scenes shot at the location. As my travels continue, more locations will be added.
